Grey High rally dramatically after Michaelhouse dominate first half

The hosts at the Kolisi Field engineered a major second-half reversal, defeating Michaelhouse 28-19 in a thrilling encounter. Despite Max Oliva opening the scoring and the KwaZulu-Natal side building a 19-15 lead by the break, Grey High turned the tide completely, securing victory with a late penalty goal. Centre Ciaran Killian scored the crucial try of the match, giving the hosts the lead for the first time and galvanizing the side.

The initial onslaught from Michaelhouse, featuring tries from wing Laird Hamilton-Brown and flyhalf Jack Carmody, set the tone for the early period. However, the momentum shifted decisively after the interval. Grey High scored 13 unanswered points, dismantling the Michaelhouse fightback. Meanwhile, the Wildeklawer Tournament delivered a round of intense fixtures, including Paarl Gim securing a massive win with 45-10 against Helpmekaar, and Affies winning their final match of the tournament in a dramatic fashion by overturning a 23-5 half-time deficit to claim the win 40-37 over Boishaai.

MOTM: Ciaran Killian — Scoring the try of the match for Grey High.
