Grey High make a spectacular second-half comeback against Michaelhouse

The hosts at the Kolisi Field showed incredible resolve to overcome the early running of Michaelhouse, securing a dramatic 28-19 win on Saturday. Despite Michaelhouse opening the scoring through hooker Max Oliva, and building a significant 19-15 halftime lead thanks to tries from wing Laird Hamilton-Brown and flyhalf Jack Carmody, Grey High belonged entirely to the second half. The gap evaporated as the hosts put 13 unanswered points on the board. Captain Ciaran Killian proved decisive, scoring the match-defining try to finally give Grey High the lead. After weathering a prolonged attack, the hosts closed the deal with a late penalty goal to seal the victory.

The festival weekend delivered a marathon of top-level action, with another competitive day of fixtures at the Wildeklawer Tournament in Kimberley. Elsewhere, Paul Roos Gimnasium staged a phenomenal turnaround, fighting back from a 15-0 deficit to claim a 21-18 victory over Garsfontein. This triumph occurred following a dominant first half by the Pretoria side, which had raced into a 15-7 lead through tries from wingers Neil de Kock and Yuvrah George.
